WOMEN MEMBERS OF RENO HOST LIONS CLUB

In years past, membership in Lions Clubs was limited to men only; women were invited to be members of the Lions Auxiliary. This policy was changed over a decade ago. Today, women are joining the largest service organization in the world, the International Association of Lions Clubs, in increasing numbers.

The Reno Host Lions Club membership is currently composed of more than 10% women. Women members are active in all operations of the club.

Reno Host Lions has recently had several women as Club president, starting with Joanne Brown. Mona Dible (pictured at right) and Lana Wilson were presidents subsequently.

In addition, Lion Optician Linda Brown was honored by the club with the highest honor which can be bestowed upon a Lion locally, (photo) the George Hamilton Humanitarian Award. This award was presented for her numerous hours and travels associated with sight conservation worldwide.
